After all the fun involved in shooting their engagement photos, I was really excited to meet up with Kari & Sean for their wedding. They chose Madsen’s Greenhouse in Newmarket for their celebration. Madsen’s actually is a functioning greenhouse (lovely plants and flowers!) but they also specialize in weddings. It may sound strange to think of getting married in a Greenhouse, but trust me, it is not. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding, I highly recommend you check these guys out.
I met Kari, her mom and her bridesmaids at a salon in Newmarket the morning of the wedding…mmmm Aveda…I love the smell of everything by Aveda! After some fun getting-ready shots it was off to the hotel to meet up with the boys. Sean was great fun - he was so excited about the wedding and he was really looking forward to seeing Kari.
Unfortunately, our rainy summer continued and about ten minutes before the scheduled outdoor wedding everything had to be moved indoors. Madsen’s pulled it off seamlessly and everyone had a great time. I loved the final moments of the ceremony when each guest was asked to make a silent wish for Kari & Sean and then release the wish with a Monarch butterfly.
The reception ran well into the night and the decor was done by To Suit Your Fancy - check out their website and click on “real weddings” to see some recent examples of other weddings they have done. They did a fantastic job – I do believe this was the first time I have seen black chair covers with white sashes…very sharp!
On to the photos…

Kari & Sean…congratulations on a fantastic wedding. I hope you had a great time in Punta Cana (did you swim with sharks?). All the best guys…see you soon!
