Alex & Chelsea – Engaged!

One question readers…how hot is this couple? Meet Alex and Chelsea! They got engaged a couple of months ago and they are planning a fabulous wedding up in cottage country for the summer of 2011. I know that sounds like it is a long way from now, but I have learned from other lovely couples...

AFRICA: PART V (boat cruise – game drive)

I’ve been a little too busy to keep up with my posts on the trip to Africa (sorry guys). If you want to read the first several posts you can head over to the old blog (www.flirtphotography.blogspot.com).
I last left off with the day I went Chimp-trekking while staying at a lovely tea plantation in Uganda. Several...

Michigan Mind-Opening…

Confession time…flash can be intimidating. Sure, I have bounced it off walls, ceilings and reflectors but I’ve always been leery about directing it right at my subjects (read: the bride and groom). I have spoken to lots of photographers about this and they either a: felt the same way, or b: had mastered the flash and...

Where the wild things are…

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving everyone!
I decided to drive out to the farm for the weekend to rest my aching back. I have a couple of herniated discs that flared up last week and left me virtually crippled. Although medication has been helping, I find a dose of my “magic puppy” Viva also helps me feel better....

Banff with a buddy…

Earlier this summer I took a few days at the end of my trip to Africa to head out West – in part, I was there to help shoot a wedding in Edmonton, but truthfully Calgary is a second home to me (I lived there for 12 years). I crashed at my best friend’s house....

I have been looking forward to this wedding for a long time – not only because I think this couple is absolutely adorable (I LOVE people in LOVE), but also because Melissa & Adam were the winners of a silent auction I held...

Kari & Sean…butterflies and ebullience

After all the fun involved in shooting their engagement photos, I was really excited to meet up with Kari & Sean for their wedding. They chose Madsen’s Greenhouse in Newmarket for their celebration. Madsen’s actually is a functioning greenhouse (lovely plants and flowers!) but they also specialize in weddings. It may sound strange to think of...

Summer in the sunshine…

It has been a whirl of a summer for me with all kinds of travel and fun shooting assignments. Yesterday, I took a breather and jumped at the opportunity to spend some time with my dear friend Summer and her lovely daughter Nissa. They had a special day for girls planned and thought a little photoshoot would be a...

The Wild Wild West…

What a summer! I have collected more stamps in my passport in the last three months than I had in the previous three years. Once bitten by the travel bug the idea of seeing and doing more just seemed to take on a life of its own. Not only did I have a chance to...

A WHALE of a good time (New Brunswick)

I was so excited last night about my plans to go on two whale watching tours today I hardly slept. After falling into a very light sleep I was disappointed to be awoken by RAIN…oh no…after more than 2,400 km of driving in a few days I was finally in a great place to see these...
